We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. It was incredibly busy to where you walked single file most of the time, but very pretty. Carter got to "talk" to lots of new people and play with sticks, so he was pretty happy. At one point, he was petting a dog and there was a guy with a big camera that started taking pictures of Carter and the dog. Kind of funny, but some guy has pictures of a random dog and kid that he doesn't know. Going home was a riot. It took like 2.5 hours to get home when it should take like 45 minutes. We timed it perfectly. There was a bomb threat at a metro stop, so all the trains were messed up since they shut that 1 stop down. We finally got on a train and made it to Pentagon at which point we could ride a shuttle or walk 2 metro stops down (about a mile), so we walked. There were hoards of people waiting for the shuttle. In the meantime, the threat was resolved and the stop was opened at some point while we were walking. We finally made it home, very tired, and vowed not to go back next year. It was CRAZY and slightly comical!
Brett and Carrie came to visit over conference weekend. This is them at the Iwo Jima memorial, at least you can see them. There are several reasons why I'm not a photographer as a profession and this is one of them. They are expecting their first baby in October. We can't wait for Carter to get another new cousin!
Sarah Black, a friend in our ward, had a really fun Easter egg hunt at her house on Wednesday. Carter had so much fun picking up the eggs and walking around shaking them. He LOVED the whole thing especially all the kids, finding bright toys (i.e. eggs) all over the ground, shaking the eggs, and eating strawberries, his newest favorite fruit, afterward.
The 2nd Easter egg hunt at Cheryl's house on Saturday morning. This kind of explains how that went for Carter. He was so tired, he fell asleep right after we stuck him in the car to go home.

The festival looked so beautiful. Definitely worth going to see once I'd say - though I totally understand about not wanting to go back after the metro issues and crowds.
Carter looks so cute! I'm glad you had such a fun Easter.
That looks like so much fun! I've always wanted to go to the cherry blossom festival. I hear it's gorgeous. And Carter is adorable!!!
