VA Beach

We went to the beach with one of Jason's economic buddies. His wife's family owns this beach house that is about 1/2 block to the water and 100 yards to the beach. It was SO nice of them to invite us. Carter was ON the entire first day. I think it had something to do with there were 3 brooms he could play with constantly, there was a dog walking around, and he was performing for new people. He ran between the brooms and the dog like a ping pong ball. He was quite wired.

Our family by the ocean. I body surfed a few waves and felt 17 again.

We went to an aquarium and they had an open pool filled with sting rays for everyone to pet. Carter and I got in on the action. He would bravely hold out his hand and giggle when they would swim into his hand. I was throughly grossed out after the curiosity of touching them wore off. We didn't touch these ones, but it is the right creature at least. Carter was dodging and weaving through the crowds at the aquarium. Jason and I were spent after running the entire thing chasing Carter.

One of the brooms. We may have convinced this poor couple to just stick to dogs. He is showing his broom to Picot, Steve's wife.

Carter terrorizing Ariadne the dog. He would walk behind their dog so her tail would "tickle" his face. I think he would have slept in her doggie bed if we let him. He also attempted to ride her, feed her, and play with her toes.

This is why he finger paints without clothes. Some things aprons just can't handle, like Carter.

P.S. We got a NEW CAMERA! Now I can put pictures onto our computer instantly again instead of going to the store to get them "developed" really put on a CD, but it felt like the olden days.

Movies

Carter's best friends have the coolest toys and all very boy oriented since they have 2.5 boys. He figured out their 4-wheeler except the steering.

Carter is our little soccer player making Jason very excited!

We went to VA beach with one of Jason's classmates. Carter enjoyed the sand and water. We all had a great time.

Summertime!

We have had such a fun summer! I love not going to work and especially not having to leave Carter. Here are a few highlights in no particular order.

Our neighborhood is just packed with little friends Carter's age and most of them are even boys. His best friends live directly across the street. He goes crazy when he sees them outside and has to go say hi. They all get so excited to see each other. Here he is riding in the jeep with Hunter (2 1/2). He is really a good driver for 2 years old. His other buddy, Hunter's little brother, was napping, but he is 2 months younger than Carter.

Playing in Hunter's and Travis's pool.

Being a boy. He pushed his "piano" to the middle of the room and then needs to conquer it.

Free standing on his bus

Paddle boating in the Potomac River. Carter just wanted to get in the water.

I had the best birthday cake from Baskin Robbins. The same flavors I got growing up, World Class Chocolate Ice Cream with white cake. Jason describes the cake as "dried bread", but he likes the ice cream and he doesn't even like ice cream. I ate 2 pieces a day for about 5 days straight, and the scale confirms.

Another dose of minerals

We went swimming with my BFF Krista up in Maryland. Carter LOVED the water! All was well until I locked him in the car AGAIN! Poor kid. At least the AC was on. Montgomery County Firefighters to the Rescue!

This is Fort Hunt on the Potomac River.
