Countdown to 1

Our sweet little Carter will be 1 in just 19 days. It is hard to believe we have had him for a year. It definitely has not been long enough. He is quite the little character when it comes to diaper changes. They bring him to tears nearly everytime and he has worn diapers his whole life. I just figured he would know by now what he was in for like laying on his back for less than a minute. Not Possible in his book. We change diapers on the go. Recently, he discovered how to open the toilet, both the lid and ring. Just the lid up is pretty fun, but when he gets both he can really get in there to splash! When the bathroom door is closed, he hits the door and cries. He loves the vacuum and opening/closing the clothes washer. Hopefully, these interests will come in handy in a few years. As for most kids, dogs are very appealing. Just the usuals for a little one, but the difference is that he is on loan to US.

He is very attached to the green and brown blanket. We went to Kohl's to buy a back up and at first only found a blue and brown one and thought that would work. On our way to the register, we found 1 green one and gave Carter the choice of which one he wanted. He immediately grabbed the green one and cuddled it to his face and made some little sounds. He LOVES his blanky and the back up.

He has to get in on the action!

The gate calls his name whenever he sees it. I just don't understand what is so cool about that.

Déjà vu

Another post about a snow storm and Carter of course.....

Post snow storm, we ventured off to the Capitol to see the Mall with snow. Several people were cross-country skiing there. It was such a pretty day! Carter LOVED to walk around with all the snow and people visiting the Capitol. It was so nice to get out of the house and it was so fun to see all the snow.

Back at the ranch we have Carter on our sidewalk.

Our little snow bunny. As I walk past people out in public, I frequently hear the comment, "I just want to pinch his cheeks!" This picture gets me to smile every time.

The snow that knocked our power out for over 10 hours (a short-lived adventure), canceled church (2nd week in a row), canceled school for 4 days so far (last Friday before a flake hit the ground, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), gave Jason a really good work out, and made us wish we had a sled (next year). One of the best parts about the storm is its name "Snowmegeddon" like Armageddon, but you say snow instead of arm. It felt like the end of the world based on people's reactions.
