Friday Night Lights

Jason and I went to see all of the fun lights in DC. He finished his finals on Wednesday night and has been recovering since. We had so much fun actually getting to spend time together.

Here we are at the National Christmas tree. It is about 40 feet tall.

Little did we know that this tree is permanent and grows here on the Eclipse. There is a plaque in the grass that apparently we have missed on our visits to DC. Many of you have probably already seen the tree and maybe didn't know it either.

There were multiple trains circling the tree as well as little villages at several places next to it like this one. They had a building called Santa's Workshop. They had people dressed up as elves and Santa. You could take your kids to his workshop and let them sit on Santa's lap. It was really cute, but we didn't take a picture of it.

I Believe in Santa Claus

He wears red.
His hair is white
He comes in the night.
He loves little children.
He knows we are good.
And He brings gifts.
The symbols of Christmas can remind us of the true meaning of Christmas.




Every year we get at least 1 Santa. Last year we got a little carried away hence we have more than 6.

Christmas Letter 2008

MERRY

Cross Country trip visiting Nauvoo, Carthage and Springfield, IL.
Had Jason's appendix removed in April.
Really lucky we sold our house.
In August, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary.
Started Jason's Ph.D. in Economics at The George Washington University.
Triathlon for Wendi 12 weeks pregnant.
Moved to Alexandria, Virginia about 10 miles from Washington, DC.
April 9, 2009, our baby boy is due.
Started Wendi's job at a local elementary school.

We are just too excited!

We have been eyeing this little outfit in Kohls for our little fellow. The nice thing is that Kohls is always having a sale.

Baby Update

We are 5 months now. Our little guy is getting bigger as you can see and stronger as well. Thanksgiving weekend he started moving strong enough so Jas could feel him. Jason is like 12 year old girl with babies. He is very cute and sweet and needless to say he loves to feel the baby. It is fun for me to watch Jason's excitement as well as being able to tell that baby is getting bigger/stronger. We just purchased a name book. I had no idea how hard it could be to name a child, so his name choices change weekly. We are excited for our next ultrasound on Christmas Eve. I couldn't believe the facility was open, but it works out really well since we will both be done with school and work. Our doctors either think he is really cute and want to see lots of pictures of him. OR Maybe they always say "Let's do another ultrasound based on your history." I don't ask questions since we love to get any sneak peeks of our little guy that we can. It is always nice to know that everything is looking good.

A ward member had 2 car seats because they had a family member who had twins and then gave them both of the car seats. Jason just mentioned one day in priesthood that we were expecting a baby and this nice guy asked if we needed a car seat. We haven't purchased anything for our little guy yet, but he has at least 1 outfit and a car seat, so we can at least take him home with us. We are very grateful for how kind people are and the blessing of paying your tithes.

Last but not least, this is what I have craved and kind of the only thing. One day a friend brought over some Rice Krispie Treats that were really good and since then I have loved them. I make them at least every other week. Jason doesn't complain. He admits that he has never liked Rice Krispie Treats this much either.

Our Christmas Present

We bought ourselves a new bedroom set from Marlo, a furniture store. Our set includes the bed, 2 night stands, the dresser, and mirror. They delivered it the day before Thanksgiving. We have loved it ever since we laid eyes on it. They call the wood color expresso which is a dark brown color with a reddish tone. I love how it is curvy on the front of the dresser and night stands. There is padded leather on the back of the headboard so you can sit up in bed.
