Baby Kylie

I have ultrasounds every month to watch our little girl grow since they were concerned with how small Carter was. She was looking just the right size for 29 weeks, 2 pounds 14 ounces, and healthy too! We are excited to meet her, but not for a few months. For now her name is Kylie Marie, but it is always subject to change before she is born.

Welcome October

We went to Homestead Farm over the weekend and picked some apples and looked at all the animals. We all had such a good time despite how bland picking apples sounds. Carter walked around gnawing on apples the whole time and loved it. We looked at all the animals. Carter reached in and fed the chickens some apple. I kind of thought he was going to loose a finger. He was very excited about all the animals and climbing the fences.

Carter LOVES dirt and digging. This is where he digs under our deck. Sometimes he will transport dirt from the front garden to this area or vice versa. He uses and shovel, buckets or a sifter to translocate his dirt. When he dumps bucket of dirt, he only know how to dump them toward him, so he ends up really dirty pretty much every day. The long box is from the swing set and is part of the fun.

So long September!

We went on our first camping trip with Carter and our first one in Virginia to Pohick Bay. Carter LOVED it as anticipated as he loves being outside. He was thrilled to have his rake, bucket, and lots of dirt. There was even a playground there. He now prefers and only goes down slides on his tummy unless with a friend.



Carter turned 18 months old! He makes us laugh daily. One day it was butter smeared in his hair...

Another day he broke a bowl from playing it like a drum with a fork...

Another favorite also in the month of September was jumping on the shelf that is above the toilet (4-5 feet in the air or so). I'm sure you can see what is coming. Well, we no longer have a shelf attached to the wall, but the fortunate part of the story is that Jason caught him.

It was Christmas in the end of August. Carter had so much fun helping to put the swing set together. He loves tools and helping. It's debatable whether the swing set was for me or Carter. It is so nice to have in our yard! (I haven't taken a picture of the finished product yet apparently.)


Christmas excitement didn't end there. Carter found his other present which was barricaded in the storage room. He is so so excited about his bike ($15 consignment sale special! I LOVE you consignment sales!). It took me a while to figure out, he doesn't want out, he wants the bike out so he can ride it. Apparently we have to be a lot more careful with Christmas presents and he is only 1. There is supposed to be a video which failed to upload.



Kylie is growing, but I'm growing more! Everything seems to be going well. I have mastered the ice cream eating!


We went swimming for a friend's birthday party. Jace Carter turned 1. I worked with his mom at Bush Hill and we both had husbands named Jason and liked the name Carter, so we have Carter Jason and they have Jace Carter.


Jason got accepted into the SCEP (Student Career Experience Program) at the HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development). The SCEP provides work experience which is directly related to the student's academic program and career goals. Students in the SCEP may be noncompetitively converted to term, career or career-conditional appointments following completion of their academic and work experience requirements. What that means is he gets hired after graduation in front of any applicants for a job and gets benefits in the meantime. He makes us proud! Less than 14 people got offered the upgrade from a few hundred interns and there were thousands of applications to become an intern in the first place. Our Jason is one in a thousand in this instance, and obviously priceless to Carter and I.
