Merry Christmas!

There was this very nice Santa in Wal-mart, so we got our picture taken with him for FREE. Thanks Coca-Cola! Carter was extremely nervous about the whole situation. We have read books about Santa, have Santa dolls set up, and talk about Santa. Carter will readily say his name at home, but when it came to the real guy, there was no way. He was clinching on to me for dear life. The closer we got, the harder his grip with one hand and the other hand was stuffed in his mouth. The poor kid just has a look of terror in the picture and Santa never even touched him. I was trying not to laugh, but his reaction was so comical and novel, since he usually loves people.

Our Christmas tree only got ribbons and lights this year. All our decorations are the balls that shatter, but the key word is balls. Carter throws most things especially balls, so we erred on the side of caution and hence no decorations. The ribbons, which I taped to the top with just Scotch tape, have withstood Carter yanking on them.

No you have that wrong, he didn't particularly like us this summer till about day 2 either. And he didn't like nursery so I would say he generally only likes people when Mom or Dad is within reach.

Using ribbons is such a good idea. I think it looks really nice.

As for Santa, I've sometimes wondered if Santa were smaller that kids would enjoy him more. He's just such a large guy that he would be intimidating to anyone under 3 ft. tall!

It's a Santa thing for sure! Jack did that at the ward party last saturday and I had to hold him for the picture. It was so funny. So I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes to laugh at my terrorized kid. ha ha. But that tree is beautiful even without the ornaments!
