Shenandoah National Park and Butterflies

We went to Shenandoah National Park and LOVED it. The road through the park is on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is quite pretty. We went on a little hike to a waterfall. Carter was really good in his backpack as long as he had sticks or rocks in his hands. He loved playing in the water, dipping his fingers in the water for a little taste, throwing rocks, and making splashes with sticks. A little piece of heaven for Carter (outside + water).

Playing at the bottom of the waterfall which we did for like an hour.

Wanting to get back into the water

A real waterfall

We went to the butterfly exhibit in the National History Museum which is free on Tuesday. Tickets were really easy to come by and we had such great company! We went with Krista, Kate, and Brooklyn. We also made it to the Botanical Gardens.

There were butterflies everywhere.

We had a fun picnic next to a fountain inspired by Brooklyn. The kids LOVED the water. Carter and Brooklyn were soaked and constantly trying to sneak into the fountain, sometime successful. We were sitting right on the edge which was a huge temptation.

I would say he was successful by the very soggy diaper. More pictures and movies please since you don't bring the baby to see me!!!
