Well...It was cold and we have a baby. It didn't go as well as planned. Despite his Norwegian roots, Carter doesn't like the cold. Carter started crying whenever we even started to put a coat on him the 2nd day when we had planned to see Jamestown and York town which were A TON more interesting at an incredibly better price. We choose Carter over getting to really explore the latter of this "historic triangle." The Christmas decorations. I think the tour guide of the Governor's house said it best when she explained how there wasn't very much out there because the squirrels would have eaten them. This year the squirrels would have starved if they were relying on the Christmas decorations for a meal. Keep in mind I took pictures of the MOST decorated buildings.
Yorktown
This is the Yorktown battlefield. The trenches that those burley soldiers dug are still there!

Jason, Carter, and General Washington. He was pretty important in the battle of Yorktown. We really liked Yorktown!

Jamestown
This is an Indian house in Jamestown. Carter is petting a wolf maybe even caught by Pocahontas herself.

A colonist's house like John Smith for example.

Their church. I took this to demonstrate the Christmas decor.

The boats the settles came over on.

Captain Jason and Carter in Captain John Newports room on the ship.

Williamsburg
A canal that they pulled ice out of to put in their drinks. Luxury!

They let the men decorate. It was really cool looking.

The governor's gardens. It's a maze

I love all that history!! I'm SO jealous!!! I guess we'll have to come and visit YOU! : D
I want to live in the Governor's house - minus the gargoyles!
WOW that all looks amazing! In Pocahontas (the cartoon) they sure made those ships look a lot bigger! I would be scared to cross the ocean in one of those. We need to plan some trips! (I mean sightseeing ones... not oceanfaring ones.)
