Air and Scare

We had never heard of "Air and Scare" until we were minutes away from the Air and Space Museum, the one by the Dulles Airport not the one up by the Capitol, and saw an advertisement for it. We just wanted to see the planes and were surprised to show up on the busiest day of the year. It was really fun to see all of the little ones dressed up in their Halloween costumes and of course I didn't turn down the candy as we walked around. The weather was supposed to be light rain, but it was an intense down pour. We were so drenched by the time we got in the museum and we even had umbrellas. For example, we pulled the stroller out of the trunk, set it up with the shade over the seat, and after we pulled Carter out the stroller was soaked. There were substantial puddles in all of the cup holders, so we put the stroller back in the trunk getting ourselves even more wet. Carter stayed pretty dry since he was under the blanket and my coat and directly under the umbrella.

We were initially inspired to go to the museum to see the plane from the new Transformers movie. Here it is, except it doesn't transform, but still cool looking.

It seemed like a mini Star Wars reunion. There was the DC Chapter of the R2D2 building club and every Star Wars Character in their serious costumes.

The space shuttle was SO GINORMOUS! Carter is sporting his "Uncle Buck" hat.

There were lots of planes there as you could have guessed based on the name of the museum. It was so fun to see it all. We would love to go back with anyone who wants to come and see it!

Grandpa Jorgen is a little slow in checking your blog out. What fun things you do. I look forward to seeing this museum. Carter is sitting up so well and I love his giggle and laughter. Tickle him for me. Love you all.
