Christmas Vacation

We went to Syracuse where we celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my brother Mike, his wife Summer, and children Eden and Allie. They were hilarious to watch Christmas morning. Both very excited and got just what they wanted.

We went to Boston next and stayed at a bed and breakfast that my parents had stayed in a few years previous. While in Boston, we visited We walked the freedom trail where we saw Boston Commons (a park next to the Capitol building), the Capitol, USS Constitution “Old Ironside”, Paul Revere’s house, the path that he rode, the church where he hung the 2 lanterns, Fenway park, MIT, Harvard, a memorial on Bunker Hill in the Revolutionary War, and the graves of famous Americans including Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock.

This is the memorial on Bunker Hill. This one you have to hike to the top to look out the windows. There is no elevator like in the Washington Monument in DC. Needless to say, my legs were sore for the next 2 days, but we made it.

We went to Plymouth, Massachusetts to see the place where the Pilgrims landed. Plymouth rock is not really larger than it appears, but it used to be 3 times that size (still not really big).

Lastly, we went to New York City for 3 nights visiting Time Square, Rockefeller Center with the skating rink and tree, Macy's windows, Toys R Us, Ground Zero, Wall Street, The New York Stock Exchange, the bull, the site where Washington took his oath for presidency, Empire State Building, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.

Some person on the street dressed as Cookie Monster.

The New York Stock Exchange with really neat lights forming the American Flag.

The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center.

The Jurasic Park display in Toys R Us.

Jason at the Statue of Liberty. It was ridiculously cold. It was snowing and blowing.

The view from the Statue of Liberty.

Wendi at Ellis Island. Check out the luggage!

Wendi! Hey, I found your blog through Natalie's, hope you don't mind me dropping it. Congratulations on expecting a baby-that's great! It looks like you had a pretty amazing Christmas break.
My husband and I are moving to the DC area in August and I would love to hear about where you are living, some good areas to look for apartments, etc. Plus, I'd love to know how to contact you so we can hang out once we're out there. Email me if you get a chance!
